Scotland, the most beautiful country in Western Europe, was the last to gain a National Park. For over fifty years no one thought that one was needed! Now, one of the unspoilt areas close to both Edinburgh and Glasgow has been protected for future generations. That area, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, is home to rare wildlife, exquisite scenery, over twenty Munros and ten thousand years of history. From the birthplace of Rob Roy to the beauties of Loch Lomond and Loch Katrine (immortalised by Sir Waletr Scott's Lady of the Lake), the National Park is an area of outstanding countryside, steeped in history and full of surprises.
