Beskrivning

Hijas olvidadas: Two Contemporary Plays by Hispanic Women Writers brings together two compelling dramas from Spain and Argentina. Una estrella by Paloma Pedrero and paula.doc by Nora Rodríguez both feature spirited female protagonists who explore their painful pasts to gain self-understanding. Common themes of parent/child relationships and issues of identity and memory engage readers and arouse their empathy. Moreover, Hijas olvidadas adds missing female voices to the Spanish curriculum.Aimed at high intermediate and advanced students of Spanish, Hijas olvidadas seeks to bridge the gap between language and literature courses with communicative skill-building activities and creative approaches to literary analysis. Students debate issues, discuss dramatic techniques, and create scenes that go beyond the plays.
