The story had a nice concept that could be built upon to become something better. Generally speaking it felt a bit lacking in rules and information of the "magic". The story in itself was good, but it took a while for it to kick off, and when it did it ended very abruptly without really getting the answers to many of the questions.
A bit more polish and a few more books and it could definitely be something better than it currently is.

In comparison with Brandon Sandersons masterpiece, The Stormlight Archives, this feels like a very early work and a "gateway" book/universe to edge out ideas.

It's an OK read but I highly recommend TSA before this.
