Louisa May Alcott (1832 1888) was an American novelist and short story writer. In addition to the beloved classic Little Women, she wrote a variety of works, including fairy tales and other novels for young readers. Her legacy continues to endure, and her work is still cherished by readers of all ages. Her writings remain a cornerstone of American literature and are often celebrated for their exploration of themes like personal growth, independence, and the complexity of family life.

"In times deformed by endless violence, I have found myself yearning for a heartwarming read that transports the mind to an idyllic, fanciful world where truth, beauty and goodness reign supreme. I was delighted to learn that @rizzolibooks has just published such a book—one which happens to have been penned by one of my favorite authors: Louisa May Alcott. Her debut work was “Flower Fables,” originally written for Ellen Emerson, Ralph Waldo Emerson’s daughter. With original illustrations that have been exquisitely reimagined in color, this collection of nine allegorical fables showcasing the powers of kindness, friendship, love, altruism and self-discovery is certain to delight modern audiences as much as it did when it was first published in 1854, fourteen years before the publication of “Little Women.” This hot-off-the-press edition from @rizzolibooks shimmers with inner beauty, complete with a ribbon bookmark. I cannot recommend it enough!" — @MISSFLEURISH VIA INSTAGRAM"In this collection of pictures, a blue river of squills envelopes a stunning new edition of Louisa May Alcott’s ‘Flower Fables’, published by @rizzolibooks.Included illustrations are a mixture of Harry Fitzner Davey’s botanical illustrations (which I show more of in a recent YouTube video) and decorative stock illustrations, all wonderfully colorized." — @WATERBEARREADS VIA INSTAGRAM"Each story celebrates the magic of nature while gently conveying enduring lessons of kindness, love, imagination, and self-improvement. Perfect for adults, children, and fans of classic literature alike, this collector’s edition of Flower Fables is an ideal gift for readers who treasure illustrated classics, fairy tales, and beautifully designed books."— THE SILVER PETTICOAT REVIEW
