Richard Garcia, a native of San Francisco, has published a bilingual book for children, My Aunt Otilia's Spirits, and the poetry collections Rancho Notorious, The Persistence of Objects, and the chapbook Chickenhead: Prose Poems.

I am reminded of the Argentinean writers Julio Cortazar and Jorge Luis Borges, but with sunglasses and in California. The Flying Garcias is a sure voice and a fine book.
