Royal Artillery

W.Y. Carman, F.S.A., F.R.Hist.S., is well known as a military historian and collector of militaria. Among the books and articles he has written on uniforms and weapons are The History of Firearms, British Military Uniforms from Contemporary Prints, Indian Army Uniforms (2 vols.) and Headdresses of the British Army (2 vols.), as well as contributions to History of the British Army. He was associated with the Imperial War Museum and National Army Museum for over 20 years, and a Council Member of the Army Historical Research Society. Michael Roffe is a talented painter of military subjects who has illustrated many books for Osprey over the years, spanning a variety of historical periods. He has illustrated titles relating to the Boer War, the English Civil War, the Napoleonic Wars and the American War for Independence.
