Beskrivning
This anthology examines the intersections of race, gender, and sexuality in premodern classics from Virgil to Shakespeare.Class, A Premodern Critical Race Studies Casebook provides a resource for scholars, teachers, graduate students, and anyone interested in premodern critical race studies. Connecting premodern texts with urgent contemporary questions, the authors consider intersectionality as a way of thinking about premodern and early modern class structures, and how these structures are inseparable from taxonomies of race, gender, and sexuality—that is, how no one taxonomy can exist without the others.
