I was not really interested in reading about theory of constraints when I picked up this book from a collegue's desk. Flipping through the pages I discovered that it was written as a novel about a plant manager who gradually learns. Excellent idea to bring this idea to the reader and no wonder it is considered one of the best of all time. The 30th anniversy edition says it all.
