The family in this series have a high interest in traveling the world and their real world vacations come packed with in-depth knowledge about the regions they visit. Mori in particular is an excited kid who always wants to see new and interesting things, while his sister is more of a history buff.In an age where fantasy is everywhere in children's literature, its nice to see normal families traveling the real world together, reinforcing family values, and showing a positive experience between parents and kids. This book includes a 5th grade lesson plan on the culture and history of Brazil.

    Recensioner i media

Kirkus Reviews:"A vivid and informative tale about Brazil for young readers."Indie Reader Starred Review:"A rich, immersive travelogue that delves beneath Brazil's vibrant surface to explore its complex cultural and historical fabric. Geiszel Godoy's Brazilian Cultural Exchange is an enjoyable read that educates as much as it entertains."Victoria G., Educator:"As a NYC public school teacher, Black Sands books are essential to the classroom because it finally gives us minorities a chance to be POWERFULLY represented in literature."Ryan Will, Reedpop:"In an industry that has struggled with diversity, it is so refreshing to see Black Sands creating work that is adding diversity while also providing some much-needed diverse storytelling to children of all ages. The combination of quality artwork and great characters is something that can be difficult to find among self-published comics which also makes Black Sands a valuable addition...[and adds a] much-needed element to the pop-culture industry as a whole."
