Beskrivning
LiDAR remote sensing continues to demonstrate exceptional application potential in many fields. The second edition of this bestseller with hands-on applications is substantially revised and thoroughly updated. Each chapter includes up-to-date studies and features four hands-on projects using ArcGIS Pro software package, for a total of 24 hands-on projects throughout the book. Readers can learn about LiDAR principles, data processing and analysis methods, and real-world applications of LiDAR technology in major fields such as forestry and vegetation mapping, urban environments, geosciences, and natural hazards mapping.New in the Second EditionFeatures new and up-to-date information on LiDAR technology, data processing, analysis methods, and applications with LiDAR data from 30 study areas.Includes four problem-solving exercises using real data and ArcGIS Pro software in each application chapter.Reviews new data processing and analysis methods such as machine learning and deep learning. Most of the projects included are derived from the author’s field research and field studies. This new edition is ideal for senior undergraduate and graduate students, industrial professionals, researchers and academics interested in remote sensing and GIS in the areas of geography, geosciences, forestry, ecology, environmental science, urban studies, environmental and civil engineering, and surveying engineering.
