Suffolk's Coast

Suffolk’s long coastline encompasses a wide variety of historic towns and villages. The largest coastal settlement in the north is Lowestoft, for many years a major fishing port, and other large towns on the Suffolk coast include the attractive resort of Southwold, Aldeburgh, famous for its festival, and Felixstowe at the southern end of the coastline, where the old town sits alongside the country’s largest container port. Between are smaller villages with their own fascinating history, not least Dunwich with its last buildings of the great medieval port.
