According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, only 10 percent of the energy consumed in the United States in 2015 came from renewable sources. The five major consumers of energy are electric power at 39 percent, transportation at 28 percent, industrial at 22 percent, residential at 7 percent, and commercial at 4 percent.
