Moving house gives them the fresh start that they need, where they can put tragedy behind them and forge new friendships.  But Lucy, is fragile, vulnerable, easily led. When someone offers her their shoulder, their warmth and understanding, even love, she accepts, unquestioningly. But this ‘someone’ is an online monster; dangerous, deceptive, manipulative – and patiently laying a deadly trap.  As he uncovers the hideous truth of what happened to his beloved daughter, Nick vows to track down the person behind the screen. And when he succeeds, a devastating reckoning awaits…  Set in the picturesque Cotswolds, Father’s Day explores the power of paternal love, the evil of online trolling, and the morality of extrajudicial punishment. Mer om författaren

Richard Madeley left school at 16 to be a cub reporter on his local paper. By 19 he was a deputy editor, and that same year joined BBC local radio in the newsroom. He went on to work as a reporter/presenter for Border Television, Yorkshire Television (where he covered the Peter Sutcliffe serial murders) and Granada Television, meeting fellow reporter and wife-to-be Judy Finnigan. The two went on to launch ITV’s This Morning programme, and after 13 years joined Channel Four for their eponymous teatime series, which ran for eight years. Richard now works as a freelance, covering for Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain, Michael Ball on Radio 2, and live TalkRadio programmes. He has written three Sunday Times top ten bestsellers and is currently working on his fourth novel. He and his wife have run the hugely influential Richard&Judy Book Club in association with WHSmith since 2010.

    Recensioner i media

‘A dark, twisty and frightening tale of revenge – gripping’ Shari Lapena, author of Everyone Here is Lying ‘Timely and captivating, Father’s Day by Richard Madeley is impossible to put down’ Laura Dave, author of The Last Thing He Told Me ‘Taut, twisty and unsettling, this single-sitting thriller will have you racing through the pages with a knot in your stomach. Loved it!’ Ellery Lloyd, author of The Club ‘Extraordinarily timely, horrific and tender... A real tour de force of crime fiction for our times’ Susan Lewis, author of A Sicilian Affair ‘Twisty, tense and thought-provoking, Father’s Day will have you flying through the pages’ JP Delaney, author of The Girl Before ‘Not your typical thriller, this tense, dark, and twisty tale of revenge is a real page-turner, and I couldn’t put it down' Charlotte Levin, author of If I Let You Go ‘A real page-turner… The depictions of horror in beautiful locations such as Cornwall and the Cotswolds ride shotgun with the tabloid energy driving a broadsheet interrogation’ Radio Times ‘The writing is straightforward, the tone is domestic and Nick’s feelings are easy to share. If it were not for the wickedness of some of the activities involved, this might almost qualify as a cosy crime novel’ Literary Review ‘A powerful read’ Bella ‘Devastating’ That’s Life! ‘Pulse-pounding... a real page-turner' Woman's Weekly ‘Will keep you reading late into the night' Woman's Own ‘He's thought of everything, covered his tracks, committed the perfect crime... or has he? A disturbing exploration of the internet, not so much the Wild West as the Seventh Circle of Hell' Saga
