Shadow'S Lullaby

I always thought I knew where my path would take me. As an orphan there weren''t many options and as a mage there were even less. I would live out the rest of my life as a healing mage, taking care of the same people I have always known. But then he came and suddenly a new path appeared, offered by my mentor. This path offered a way out of the small town I grew up in and my uneventful life. This path, though promising, was a dangerous path. It would force me to decide between my old friends and a new friend, between the life I knew I would have and a life unknown. Lance had always been there for me, a friend when I needed it, but never promising what I wanted. Silas saw me when I thought I was nothing, just a failure at being mage, always overshadowed by Lance. He made me feel special, like I had a reason to be here. Lance was the path I knew so well, the path that had been plotted out. Silas''s path was winding and curving, every step and turn was a secret I could unlock. His was the path I took, lured towards it by the song no one else could hear.
