Michelle Gadpaille was educated at Yale University and the Universities of Western Ontario and Toronto, and is the author of The Canadian Short Story and As She Should Be: Codes of Conduct in Canadian Women's Writing. She recently edited the collection Engendering Difference: Sexism, Power and Politics, and has also published several research articles on New World slave narratives.
