    Beskrivning

The Truth About Bullying presents crucial information to assist educators and parents in creating a safe learning environment. This book is a practical guide to understanding what bullying is and the influence it has on a school. The who, what, when, where, and how of bullying are described in a clear manner that helps the reader to understand the myths and realities of bullying behavior. The latest trends in bullying, including hazing and contagion bullying, are presented, along with chapters dedicated specifically to cyberbullying and the special needs child. Recent research provides a foundation for readers as they learn how to address bullying and create a respectful, constructive school community. The authors address the importance of the school climate and culture and answer the question of whether a positive environment is enough to prevent bullying. As schools strive to improve academics, bullying can no longer be ignored—the time has come stop bullying in schools. The Truth About Bullying is a necessity for anyone working to end the problem of bullying.

    Recensioner i media

This is truly a text that all parents and educators need to read to understand not only the origins and background of bullying, but what we all must do in both the identification, prevention and dealing with the consequences of such behavior. I also strongly believe that the structure of the text, including major areas of discussion of academic importance and implication for future teachers, makes it a valuable classroom text in preparation programs for teachers and administrators throughout the country. This text is rich in academic research yet reader-friendly for educators and parents alike. It is simply one of those books that all of us concerned with the issue of bullying should have on our shelves. I know that I will be using it.
