Hawai'i Butterflies & Pollinators

Pollinators in Hawaii include bats, bees, hummingbirds, butterflies, moths, wasps, flies, and beetles. These beneficial species are both beautiful to observe and critical to the preservation of the state's diverse ecosystem and agriculture. Plants are an important foundation of ecosystems, and nearly 90% of all flowering plants rely on pollinators to produce seeds. Pollinators, in fact, bring us one of every three bites of food we take and are responsible for 35% of the world's food crops.
