Perfect Sister

The Perfect Sister by Pedro Hugo García Peláez is a novel that combines family drama and a social criticism through the story of Isaan, a young man who lives in times of crisis. The work is focused on the life of a family marked by financial difficulties and internal tensions, especially the relationship between Isaan and his father, who preaches a severe philosophy of success based on sacrifice. The novel explores themes like inequality, the struggle to succeed, and the decisions that the characters make in search of stability. The marriage of the oldest sister as a financial escape stands out.
The narrative rests on the grandfather’s memories and stories, adding a nostalgic air that is culturally rooted in mining and rural life. It reflects how personal and financial crises mold the relationships and dreams of a family in transformation.
