KALLISTA.  She was the forbidden creation destined to keep the vampire clan from being pushed into on extinction.  Once the humans had learned of the 67^th element, they were relentlessly and had taken the offensive to destroy all vampires.  But being The One, she was like no other with incredible strength, beauty, resolve and a natural-born defense to the acute lethalness behind human’s only weapon.  Although she maintains some of the same vulnerabilities as the rest of her kind, she had found her unique secret to keeping her own youth.  She used her “secret” to staying young and her incredible beauty to live comfortably, and without the cumbersome attachments prevalent to her human side, in this modern world full of wealth and privilege.  But no matter how hard one may try, and no matter one’s history, nature, or proclivity, at any given time love may strike without warning and without prelude.  Love and the emotions that accompany love tend to alter one’s life in ways never before imagined.  And for Kallista, the day that this happened was the most beautiful, terrifying, unusual and horrific beginning to her own demise – to which she submitted utterly.
