Amy Collins is a ten-year-old girl whose story is filled with laughter and tears. In 1930, her father died in New York City. Her new stepfamily was vicious and hostile toward her. An incident caused her mother to send her off to live with unfamiliar relatives in Faucette, Louisiana where her whole world changed.
