It has been alabour of love for Aileen and through its development thedesign work she created for Henny was long-listed for theUnpublished Picture Book Exhibition in 2020 and 2021, and afinalist at the 2019 Bologna Book Fair Illustrators Exhibition.Aileen said: “I use my design, illustration, animation andvideography skills on a daily basis. My communication designdegree specialised in illustration and I love to bring this practiceinto my work wherever possible. I was thrilled to be awardedtwo Irish Design Industry awards, including Emerging Designerfor a stop-motion music video I made using sand. I alwaysstrive to bring original storytelling to my work to make it moreimpactful and meaningful. When my work connects people, Ifeel happy and fulfilled.”
