Hazel is now retired after a varied career - primary school teacher, trainer of women in the community, mentor, mother of 4 and grandmother of 11 and has a passion to see our nation’s children and families thrive. She grew up in several areas of England both North and South. She trained to be a teacher at Stockwell College part of the London Institute of Education where she also met her husband Ray. Her first schools were in the London Boroughs of Bromley and Croydon, before moving to Sussex.Living within sight of the glorious South Downs, with coast and woodlands around, Hazel is a big fan of the therapeutic benefits in our environment. She loves retirement and it is proving to be one of the most interesting chapters. Her interest for people living the best life they can grew from her own experience of multiple challenges. Currently studying culinary medicine, she has become focused on the fundamental importance of diet, nutrition and lifestyle. The exciting discovery that we can influence our own health outcomes by the choices we make, lies behind her desire to help children understand early the way to stay well and protect their later years.
