Turner's Paintbox

When art dealer Gerard Moyne falls in love with the elusive Julia, their attraction is as mysterious as the workings of art, their affair too perfect to last.Gerard has a passion for the genius of J.M.W. Turner – the painter of light – whose story shadows his and Julia''s. For Gerard, whose own perspective is beguiling if sometimes callous, Turner is the ultimate aesthete, the supreme technician, the most devoted of artists. Gerard delights in explaining him to Julia. But rather than dutifully learning her lessons, Julia sees something else in the painter. She, without knowing much about art, knows something about life.Lyrically stylish, Turner''s Paintbox is a tale of beauty and cruelty, one that ponders whether we can love another and yet stay true to ourselves.
