Only in Italy: A Memoir of Mishap, Mayhem and Romance

Nobody Mentioned the ChaosMichael Francis joins an Italian for Beginners class, then packs his basic language skills and travels to Italy. He expects to order an espresso, ask for directions, and maybe impress a local or two. Not standoffs with cantankerous street vendors, a near-disaster involving five Italian police officers, and a whirlwind romance that blindsides him completely. Only in Italy is the hilarious true story of what happens when classroom translations collide with La Dolce Vita — something no travel guide will ever warn you about. Fans of Bill Bryson, A Year in Provence, and Under the Tuscan Sun will feel right at home in these pages — equal parts laugh-out-loud misadventure and unexpected charm. If you plan to visit Italy, are learning Italian, or enjoy a good laugh from the comfort of your armchair, this book is for you. Get your copy of Only in Italy today and discover how one man fell madly in love — both with Italia and an Italiana.
