    Beskrivning

When Brandon’s big brother feels left out of the party preparations, he cleverly comes up with the exciting idea to “Double Up” on all of the party goodies, so that both brothers can have a rockin’ good time. Double the cakes, double the balloons, and double the fun! This fun-loving story perfectly captures the essence of shared family experiences with comical illustrations from Dave Whamond , and Kari-Lynn's witty text that’s sure to get everyone. Dr. Kari-Lynn Winters is an award-winning Canadian children’s author, poet, playwright, performer, and academic scholar. Since 2007, she has authored over 35 books. Kari-Lynn has received the British Columbia Book Prize silver medal twice and has garnered multiple nominations for awards such as the Forest of Reading (e.g., French Toast) and the Chocolate Lily Awards (e.g., Good Pirate).

    Mer om författaren

Dr. Kari-Lynn Winters is an award-winning Canadian children’s author, poet, playwright, performer, and academic scholar. Since 2007, she has authored over 36 books. Kari-Lynn has received the British Columbia Book Prize silver medal twice and has garnered multiple nominations for awards such as the Forest of Reading (e.g., French Toast), the Chocolate Lily Awards (e.g., Good Pirate) and her most recent picture book Double-Up Day! Dave’s work has appeared in publications such as The Washington Post, The New York Times, Politico, USA Today, Sports Illustrated, Wall Street Journal, OWL and Highlights. He has illustrated over 60 books, including 5 for Robert Munsch, and has written a few himself, including the Oddrey series, My Think-a-ma-jink and Rosie’s Glasses.Dave’s awards include 2 Blue Spruce awards, a Silver Birch and 8 Silver Reuben awards from the National Cartoonists Society. His former high school chose him for a Hall of Fame award (which was a huge honor... and super weird). Dave graduated from the Alberta College of Art and Design in 1987 and later taught 3rd and 4th year Advanced Illustration there for 9 years. When he told people he wanted to be a cartoonist, they all laughed, which was fine, because he loved making people laugh, but there’s no one laughing now! Which isn’t a good thing, being a cartoonist...

    Recensioner i media

“This is a great story to tell siblings who feel envious when it is someone else’s birthday, because sharing a party can be difficult. An upbeat addition to math or SEL collections.”—Booklist Reviews (★★★★★)
