    Beskrivning

Africa and its Strategic Partnerships with BRICS and Other Emerging Countries offers a comprehensive examination of Africa’s growing influence in global geopolitics, through its alliances with key nations of the Global South, including Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. This book brings together a rich array of perspectives from African and international scholars, exploring the evolution and contemporary dynamics of these partnerships. It examines how Africa’s strategic engagements are recalibrating its position in a world that is becoming increasingly multipolar. This book assesses the multifaceted nature of these partnerships, from economic and trade cooperation to security collaboration and cultural exchanges. It highlights the significance of Africa’s agency, showing how the continent is moving beyond a history of dependency to assert its interests on the global stage. Each chapter provides critical insights into the opportunities and challenges these partnerships present, focusing on shared aspirations, mutual benefits and areas of divergence. By offering both African and global perspectives, the book sheds light on the evolving role of Africa in international relations, making it essential reading for policymakers, scholars and anyone interested in Africa’s strategic partnerships and its broader geopolitical trajectory.
