She has written more than twenty books across the genres. She has won the Governor General’s Literary Award, the TD Canadian Children’s Literature Award and the Sheila Egoff Award.Sheena Lott is an award-winning artist whose vibrant watercolors have graced 14 children's books, including Salmon Forest, Jessie's Island, and Midnight in the Mountains. She lives in North Saanich, British Columbia.Chief Ernest Alfred is a traditional and elected leader of the 'Na̱mg̱is First Nation. As a Culture and Language teacher at Alert Bay Elementary School, he has been an advocate for the education of young students for nearly 20 years. Ernest is passionate about protection of the natural environment and the conservation of wild pacific salmon.
