Studies in Joy

The third volume of a tryptic, following Beyond the Flames and The Haunted Hand, Studies in Joy, like its predecessors, explores the prospects of the poetic in a world rife with violence and terror, now drawing on her vision of joy for succour and resistance. It is a solemn joy, whose evocation makes demands on the poet as she charts its progress through her life's journey, from childhood to adulthood, and to the brink of her own disappearance, all in fluid prose and verse. Studies in Joy marks the culmination of a remarkable poetic saga.
