JIM LEARY is an archaeologist and award-winning Senior Lecturer at the University of York, specialising in Neolithic monuments and landscapes. He has directed significant excavations across Britain, including Silbury Hill, the largest Neolithic monument in Europe, and Marden Henge, a vast monument between Avebury and Stonehenge. In 2015, Jim was a BBC/AHRC New Generation Thinker finalist. He was formerly a prehistorian with English Heritage and Field Archaeologist in Residence at the University of Cambridge. Jim’s most recent trade book was the very well-received Footmarks. A Journey into Our Restless Past. Jim lives in York and is active on social media @Jim_Leary.
