Beskrivning
Friends come in all shapes and sizes, and sometimes the best friends are the most unlikely of all. When a lonely little boy receives an invitation to play written on a paper boat, it seems that he has found the best friend he's been longing for - at last! But Bear isn't quite the playmate the boy had imagined. If only he knew how to play games properly! Then, when Bear starts to build a treehouse, the boy is intrigued and a magical summer begins. As autumn passes and the first winter snowflakes start to fall, the boy is left alone, and only then does he truly realise what he has lost . . . Until at last spring comes again and the friends are joyfully reunited with a very special hug! This tender story with heart-warming illustrations exquisitely captures the change of seasons and explores themes of friendship and belonging.Fully illustrated throughout by Sarah Massini, the illustrator of The Velveteen Rabbit, The Boy and the Bear and Star in the Jar.Tracey Corderoy is a multi-award-winning author and has written over 70 books for children, including the hugely successful Shifty McGifty series. Every Nosy Crow paperback picture book comes with a free "Stories Aloud" audio recording. Just scan the QR code and listen along!

Mer om författaren

Tracey Corderoy (Author) Tracey grew up in South Wales, on a council estate firmly sandwiched between the steel and chemical works. She's a trained teacher, but now writes full-time in an old damp cottage in a valley in the woods. A multi award-winning author, her first book was published in 2010, and in October 2021, her 72nd.Her passion for nosing into other people's 'stories' began in early childhood, thanks to an ancient set of encyclopaedias and a Ladybird copy of Cinderella. Then one special teacher and many great librarians fed Tracey more and more books. Between their pages real magic started to happen. Impossible became plausible. Characters became friends. Boundaries became gates as slowly her world opened up. Books made her laugh, and cry, and think. They made her feel that maybe she could do things...Sarah Massini (Illustrator) Sarah's mum always said it was a blessing how paper and a pencil could keep her quiet and out of mischief for hours. Drawing has been a lifelong habit that has seen her through careers in corporate design, children's book design and now as a successful illustrator . . . and illustrating is what she loves doing best. Sarah lives in Sussex with her husband, Peter, her young son, Mathew, and her utterly mad terrier, Tess, who keeps guard as she draws.
