Michael Holland (Author) Michael Holland is a nature educator and author. He studied Ecology at Lancaster University. He had a 25-year career at the eminent Chelsea Physic Garden in London, including 17 years as Head of Education. He is a member of the Royal Horticultural Society's Education Committee and The Garden Media Guild. He has written several books for children, and taught tens of thousands of people, aged 2 to 92, about the natural world.Maria Dek-Lewandowska (Illustrator) Maria Dek studied art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and University of the Arts, London. She is based in Bialowieza, Poland, in the oldest forest in Europe. Her previous books include A Walk in the Forest and When I Am Big. Maria uses the traditional technique of watercolour to create her charming, joyful illustrations.
