Niina Laitinen is one of the most popular knitting designers in Finland. She taught herself to knit in 2005 when her first child was born. I am an avid sock knitter and was excited to review this book with the simple title Knitted Socks. The included socks range from ankle length up to knee length and the contents page has useful illustrations of each sock. The book has an attractive cover and contains 20 gorgeous patterns inspired by places around the world. [...]In the introductory pages, abbreviations are clearly explained with instructions for techniques that may not be commonly encountered, for example 'yarn over from front'. There is also a useful page of knitting tips, which would help guide a less experienced sock knitter, together with a guide to sock yarn weights [...]Instructions are clearly laid out with a good level of detail and charts are clear and easy to follow, being carefully colour-coded for both colourwork and stitch patterns. [...]I love making socks and found this book very inspiring. [...] There are some beautiful patterns to be created and the book provides good value for its quality and the number of patterns included.
