How Shall We Kill The Bishop and Other Stories

Shortlisted for the 2010 Caine Prize for African Fiction. In this collection of short stories, award-winning author Lily Mabura explores a fascinating range of characters and tales from around the globe.

Within these thirteen short stories, an artist mourns for their brother who died fighting in Bosnia, a restless young woman discovers the possibility of life outside of her tight-knit community, and an unemployed lawyer lingers in a Kenyan hospital.

Her first collection of short stories, Lily Mabura offers a thought-provoking and evocative glimpse into the diverse lives we lead and the stories we have to tell.

''Mabura writes with precision and clarity, imagination and a deep particularity.'' Greer Chesher
