Born on the stroke of midnight in a little house in the ancient Roman town of Caesaromagus (Chelmsford), John grew up with a love of stories, the power of words and the magic of plays on the stage. John trained as a secondary school teacher and was first published in 1983. Oodles of years later, he became a full-time writer. He's well known for writing to encourage readers into books and has been named a 'Reading Champion' by the National Literacy Trust. Georgia Holland studied BA Illustration at Norwich University of the Arts, followed by the MA in Children's Book Illustration at the Cambridge School of Art, graduating in 2025. She has worked on a variety of publishing and editorial projects, as well as with charities, such as Plantlife UK. She enjoys working digitally, but still has a passion for drawing and painting in sketchbooks. An animal lover with a passion for conservation, her aim is always to share her love for the natural world through her work. When she's not at her desk, Georgia can be found out walking with the dogs, reading a good book and frequenting cafés!
