Recensioner i media

Friends and allies fight forces of darkness in Carlos Sánchez's exciting graphic novel Rune [...] The plot moves at a blistering pace. The characters are intriguing, and themes of corruption, redemption, and the freedom to choose one's path are explored. Chiri is deaf and uses sign language throughout the book and hand motions to cast fun, quirky magic spells, like a "sweet power" spell that binds a sorceress within a doughnut.Humor is a valuable factor in the book-a source of brief respite from high-stakes discussions and conflicts. For example, a battle starts with the taunt "Are your iron levels low? . Eat my sword!" The manga-influenced art is vibrant and energetic, fleshing out the magical, lively world well. A beautiful, detailed two-page map of the kingdom is included. Rune is an action-packed graphic novel in which friends use magic and their determination to defeat an evil threat.
