Dr Nic Fields started his career as a biochemist before joining the Royal Marines. Having left the military, he completed a BA and PhD in Ancient History at the University of Newcastle. Formerly Assistant Director at the British School at Athens, Greece, and a lecturer in Ancient History at the University of Edinburgh, Nic is now a freelance author and researcher based in south-west France.Adam Hook studied graphic design, and began his work as an illustrator in 1983. He specializes in detailed historical reconstructions, and his work features in exhibitions and publications throughout the world.
