The warm flickering glow of a candle instantly transforms a room, the shadows they cast adding a mysterious air whilst their soft glow flatters every age. This appealing collection of decorative candle ideas will add charm to every room, including the garden, and their designs range from the simple to the extravagant depending on the occasion. Make your own, decorate bought ones, hang them, stand them, mount them or float them in that ultimate of attractions - fire and water. Beautifully photographed, the book is a wealth of ideas with stunning arrangements such as the twisted tree candelabra and the tasselled chandelier to the simpler pumpkin lanterns and driftwood candlestick, all clearly explained with step-by-step instructions to enable you to make them for your home. From fruit-strewn harvest festival centrepieces to aromatic Christmas mantle displays, pretty floral holders for the garden or gold-leafed candlesticks for the dinner table, you will find a wealth of innovative inspiration for every season of the year. - Lucy Watson
