Stephen R. Holmes (Ph.D., King's College, London)is a Baptist Minister and Lecturer in Theology at the University of St Andrews, Scotland. Presently he is working on a book on the theology of John Calvin, and a popular level book on the atonement, offering a cautious defence of penal substitution.
