This book was fascinating. And heartbreaking. It didn't seem like a middle school book, but rather a book about a middle school student--for adults too. I loved the themes of individuality, change/mutation, gardening, family, strength, sorrow, etc. I really couldn't put it down. Thankfully I had an entire to read it. This would make a wonderful movie.
