In the mid-eighties, four friends got together round a kitchen table and determined to give the women of Wales a voiceto bring back to life the voices of the past and find the classics of the future. It was the era of Greenham Common and female empowerment, it was time to reassert the reputation of literature written by Welsh women, to reprint wonderful novels which had long fallen by the wayside, lost and largely forgotten. Twenty-five years later Honno Press is a thriving independent publisher the only surviving independent womens press.
