Ulla

NOTE: Please note that this book is in not in the English language; it is an Irish-language work only. Úlla is a selection of the best of Seán Mac Mathúna''s short stories written in the Irish language. It includes material from his two major collections - Ding (1983) and Banana (1999) - both now out of print - and additional material. The subversive nature of Mac Mathúna’s view of the world and the extraordinary quality of the writing have long been recognised internationally. Springing from both rural and urban situations, the unique quality of his authentic voice and his idiosyncratic humour have educated and entertained two generations of readers in Irish. This selection of short stories from a master storyteller represents a major contribution to European culture.
