Born in Belgium, Guido van Genechten spent his early years at the Academy of Fine Arts in Mol studying drawing, painting, graphics and photography. He has been illustrating children's books for more than 10 years and has won numerous awards including the Reader's Digest Award for Best Children's Book Illustrator and the International Illustrator's Award of the City of Hasselt.
