Guido van Genechten was born in 1957 in Mol (Belgium). He studied drawing and painting, graphics and photography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Mol. He worked in the graphic industry for many years. Ten years ago, he began his successful career inpublishing, winning the International Illustrator's Award of the City of Hasselt and from that moment on Guido has created many best-selling books. In 2007 he won the Reader's Digest Award for Best Children's Book Illustrator.
