Home Is Where the Reindeer Are

We let the reindeer go every morning. I listen to the thousands of bells tinkling, the clicking they make with their hooves, and the grunts as the mothers and calves search for each other. And I think...Home is where the reindeer are.Witness the year of a Sámi reindeer herder in northern Sweden through the eyes of a six-year-old child. From herding reindeer onto frozen rivers using snowmobiles to gathering in the mountains for the calf-marking festival, this book celebrates a traditional way of life for the Sámi people, and their struggle to keep these traditions alive in a world battling climate change.
