Earthquake

A humane and quietly humorous tale of a thoroughly unconventional girlhood. Earthquake, with its visually acute, roguish and intimate reflections of a girl's childhood spent in Alaska and Boston, is a novella in three parts. Susan Barnes, writing in an unaffected and composed style, shows that she is the master of candour and subtlety.
