Every year, Clan Foxfire sends two messengers to Moon's Rest to pray for a reprieve from the long, hot days of Summer. Honeycomb knows the messengers will be chosen from the best of the Clan's youngfolk; Pomegranate, who is studying to take up the mantle of their leader, is sure to be chosen. But when Honeycomb's name is called alongside Pomegranate's, the two of them must face the challenges of the brutal heat and the difficult journey, as well as the waking nightmares that consume Honeycomb's mind.
