Stories in the Minor Key

Sing me a story. Tell me a song. Time is a breaking instrument, warping once-familiar melodies the longer they are played. A triumphant note becomes one of loss; a hollow chord is filled with memories. Shout out, and hear fairytale lyrics grow ever-more distorted, transformed by the length of dandelion fields—by wending museum hallways—by the apotheosis of gods at the end of all things.Themes of loneliness, love, and lamentation harmonize in M. Regan's thirteen tale collection of dark fiction inspired by music, myths, and monsters. So take a breath. Listen closely. Know that fate is orchestrated.
