Pastora Gallego is a Cardiologist with particular expertise in adult congenital heart disease and advanced cardiac imaging. She obtained her degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Seville and completed her specialization in cardiology at La Paz University Hospital in Madrid. She has held visiting research positions at Toronto General Hospital and Royal Brompton Hospital, and she earned her postgraduate degree with a doctoral thesis on  “Echocardiographic Assessment of Functional Anatomy of Aortic Regurgitation”. She was Head of the Cardiac Imaging Section at Hospital Virgen Macarena and was subsequently founding Director of the Intercenter Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program at Hospital Universitario Virgen del Rocio in Seville, Spain.  She participates in ACHD educational activities and is involved in ACHD-focused organizational activities, including serving as the chair of Executive Committee of the Registry of Adult Congenital Cardiac Disease in Andalusia (RACCA), conducted since 2012.
