This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 27th China Conference on Information Retrieval, CCIR 2021, held in Dalian, China, in October 2021.

The 15 full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 124 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections: search and recommendation, NLP for IR, IR in Education, and IR in Biomedicine.
