Gediminas Motuza is professor of geology at the Vilnius University, Lithuania, specialised in Precambrian geology, petrology, geochemistry, geological mapping, deep seismic sounding. His main research interest focusses on the crystalline basement of Lithuania and adjacent areas. He participated in international research projects under umbrella of EUROPROBE Program of the Europeans Science Foundation, Visby Program of the Swedish Institute, e.g. in the Pamir mountains, Sacha Republic, Mozambique, Chile, Norway, Afghanistan. He is a member of the Academy of Sciences of Lithuania, as well as a international member of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences.
